If parent/carers are aware of the referral they will receive 2 recorded sessions “Supporting your child With R4W” and “Supporting your child After R4W” Before and After the Group sessions which will enable them to support their Young People with the programmes content. This is an important part of the programme as working together and role modelling the strategies and techniques as a family will result in the best outcomes.
The goal of CBT is not to ‘think happy thoughts’ but is instead to think more accurately and realistically, this new way of thinking helps to break the cycle of unhelpful thinking that can increase anxiety, which will in turn promote a more helpful way of behaving.
