CAMHS Youth Team

  • We support young people in Herefordshire and Worcestershire move from children's to adult mental health services.

About our service

Our team is made up of qualified youth workers. We support young people accessing CAMHS or Wellbeing and Emotional Support Teams in Schools (WEST) move from children's to adult services. This could be adult mental health services, or support from your GP.

We aim to:

  • help you learn practical life skills. This could inclue managing money, rent, healthy living. This will help you moving towards independence. 
  • help you make informed decisions and choices about your life. 
  • help you gain skills, knowledge and experiences to keep enriching your life. 
  • champion you to keep and build healthy meaningful relationships in your community.  
  • support you if required to attend appointments.
  • advocate for you. This is so that you can experience an improved transition out of CAMHS. 

Youth workers will take a holistic approach to supporting you and can look at any aspect of life that is important to you. 

Our support and approaches:

We will support you with anything that is important to you. We will do this by; 

  • group support
  • signposting to voluntary and community groups
  • 1:1 sessions
  • drop ins and consultations.

How to access the service

You can access the CAMHS Youth Team from:

  • 16 years+ if open to Child and Adolescent Mental health Services or the Wellbeing in Schools Team (WEST) across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
  • 14 years+ if you have a formal diagnosis of Autism / ADHD and are open to Child and Adolescent Mental health Service or the Wellbeing in Schools Team (WEST) across Herefordshire and Worcestershire

To access the service you will need to complete a short form providing your contact information and giving the team consent to contact you. Once we have received this a youth worker will be in touch to arrange an introductory session with you.
